Of course when you think Chicago, you think pizza, hot dogs and steaks. But why not spice things up with some Latin flavor? Havana is a cozy, little, River North spot that can easily go unoticed, right off Clark Street. Rich mahagony wood and palm trees set the tone and the mojitos are Miami worthy. The waiters are eager to please and are generous to give their reccomendation. Wine is cheap and the most expensive meal is $24. So go ahead and let your date pick the most expensive thing on the menu.
tip: Go on a Friday for half priced mojitos (only $5!) and pitchers.
Sticking with the international theme, walk over to the Park Hyatt’s swanky, 7th floor, roof top, Nomi Garden. If neither of you have you have been there, you are in for a real treat with the gorgeous sky line. The scene is quite fancy schmancy, but I promise you it’s worth it! Drinks are on the pricier side ($12 – $15)…so you may want to deligate this as a “night cap” or quick “pit stop” before heading to your final destination. I know, I know, the price is ridiculous…but the drinks are amazing and you should have saved a lot of moolah with the half priced mojitos! I promise this will do nothing but impress.
tip: Obviously go when you are planning on nice weather. And although you will be drinking with Gold Coast’s posh locals and savvy hotel guests, you don’t have to dress in your Sunday best. The range is from cocktail to jeans…so don’t worry about your attire. You will blend right in!
