You talk on the phone until 2 in the morning, constantly texting, emailing, face booking, gchatting, tweeting and smoke signaling and you have discussed about every topic there is under the sun. I’m talking about the long distance relationship. Then all of a sudden, you are tired of gabbing, the airline stewardess knows you by name, and you have swapped your closet for a duffle bag. Everything just doesn’t seem so magical as it once used to be…
So for those that are not lucky enough to live in the same city, you have got to keep that spark alive! Whether it be temporary, always traveling, or a permanent arrangement, here are some cute ideas to keep your love abroad close to your heart.
SEND A BALL – Send a ball in the mail is a great addition to the usual bill and junk in the mailbox. These are so much fun and will definitely put a smile on anyone’s face. Just pick one of the various witty comments such as “having a ball” or “you have bounced right into my heart”. Click on the link to see all of them!
GAMES ONLINE – Whether it be Words with Friends or Chess, a little competition never hurt. Playing a game on your phone or computer allows the both of you to chat and do something together miles a part. Loser has to buy the winner a delivery pizza! Yahoo has tons of free games to chose from.
DATE IN A BOX – Get a few fun items together and put them in a little care package. For example, send a movie, candle and a sweatshirt with your cologne/perfume on it. It’s a little mail surprise! Once your date receives it, watch the same movie together at the same time while over the phone. It’s the closest thing to being right next to one another.
HIDE AND SEEK – Next time you are visiting (when your lover isn’t looking) hide a special surprise and message in an unnoticed spot. Maybe a picture, a small trinket, jewelry, anything really! After you have returned home for some time, randomly tell them to “look behind the couch”. They will be shocked to see what they find!
