For the ultra busy couple, nothing sounds more perfect than staying in and relaxing with your Valentine. However this does not mean you can skimp on the details.
Dinner for Two
As they say…the stomach is the way to a man’s (or woman’s) heart. So whip up something tasty but EASY. No need to be stressed in the kitchen. Two place cards, as shown above, are a simple way to dress up a table or floor picnic. If you are not in the mood for cooking, pick up and take home the Valentine’s Day Package from Maggiano’s.
Lovely Libations
You cannot go wrong with the classic bubbly, whether it be champagne, prosecco or sparkling wine. Roeder Estate is one of my absolute favorites and for some reason, not known to all. This amazing bottle is made from the same maker as Cristal! It is more than affordable, as it is produced in California versus the actual Champagne region of France.
End on a Sweet Note
The Windy City has more than enough prize winning desserts you can shake a stick at. So close your eyes and chose! The following selections will not lead you wrong.
- Cupcakes from Sprinkles Cupcakes (Gold Coast)
- Bacon and Chocolate Chip cookies from Hot Chocolate (Bucktown)
- Bake yourself Cookies and Ice Cream from Homemade Pizza (Lincoln Park and other various Chicago locations)
