Chicago Date Idea: Snow Day!!!!!!!!!

I swear the excitement of a snow day in the working world is no less then when I was a kid. For all you lucky folks who get today off, work up the courage and finally ask out that crush of yours!

Cozy up by the Fire. Perhaps order a light lunch of cheese and crackers while sampling wine flights by the fireplace at Lakeview’s 404 Wine Bar.

Or warm up by grabbing a hot cocoa at famous chef, Rick Bayless’s spot Xoco. The cocoa beans are ground on the premises and arguably some of the best cups of joy you can find. Alongside a homemade churro, spice it up by getting the Aztec, made of fresh ground chocolate and chili!

The sky is the limit! Stay out of the cold by going ice skating indoors on the 94th floor of The Hancock building. Constructed of synthetic ice, the room is at a comfortable temperature and talk about the view! And yes, ice skates are still required on this fake ice, which makes it the world’s highest ice skating rink.

After you two have perfected your triple sow cow, relax two more floors up while sharing a spiked coffee at the Signature Lounge. The Hot Chocolate Pixie (mixed with Baily’s and Butterscotch Schnapps) is simply heavenly. Glance at the full cocktail menu to see what other delicious beverages may tickle your fancy.

Whether you partake in some of my suggestions or simply stay in, treat yourself to the unexpected free time. If you have a moment, let me know how you will be enjoying your Chicago snow day. Safe travels!
