As my co-worker once said, “look rich, but be smart!”. When taking someone out on the first date in Chicago, you want to go to a nice place without breaking the bank. You want to impress, but still feel comfortable. I’d say Morton’s The Steakhouse bar special fits this description to a tee. Nestled in a condominium plaza on State Street, is the upscale, original Morton’s Steakhouse. This is exactly the place you avoid when in the mood for some cheap drinks and tasty bar bites. But don’t be fooled…it is probably one of the best deals in Chicago!
It’s a little thing called Power Hour. And no, this is not the game where you slam a shot of beer every minute for an hour. Just a good deal for us poor folks riding the coat tails of the rich. All the following bar bites are ONLY a five dolla holla (aka $5). Heck, that’s cheaper than Corner Bakery!
If you aren’t pinching yourself to make sure this isn’t a dream, just keep reading. You will be tickled pink once you read the drink specials!

So when can you get this almost too good to be true deal? It’s readily available in the bar every day of the week (except for Saturday’s), open to close. That’s right, no crappy times, no crappy days, and no crappy food. Just a full stomach, full wallet and hopefully a full heart!
tip: Live far from the Gold Coast? Good news, Morton’s has several locations. Pricing and deals vary by restaurant, so be sure to check their website ahead of time. Simply choose your location, then select “the bar” tab (next to General Info) to confirm.
