Happy, happy Friday! Everyone getting ready for your dates this weekend? If not, I have some fun, interesting tid bits that may increase your chances for the next time around.
- Wednesday is the best day to ask someone out on a date. The worst day to propose a date? Sunday.
- Men and women ask one another out at equal rates — in fact, ladies are at a slight advantage. Dates proposed by women saw an average of 5.8 responses each, while men got about 5.5.
- Date ideas that involve doing something specific, such as eating at a particular restaurant or doing a targeted activity, see a roughly 40% higher response than ambiguous asks (eg, “How about we try and complete a 500-piece jigsaw puzzle while sampling one of Gorilla Coffee’s famous maple lattes?” versus “let’s grab coffee and chat”.
- Date ideas that get communicated in 120-140 characters see far greater positive response than lengthy asks.
- 60% of the most-responded-to dates had two components: a short, active first part followed by a more intimate second location (Eg, “How about we practice our slices at the driving range then get some slices at my favorite brick-oven pizza joint – it’s just a few blocks away.)
This is all according to data from the 100,000 real dates proposed on HowAboutWe.com. It’s a great site, and tons of fun information on dating. Here are some of my favorite articles and may just come in handy!
Have a fabulous weekend!
