So many fantastic festivals and concerts this weekend. Perfect for meeting up and enjoying the outside! So here they are:
1. Chicago Blues Festival – Grant Park – June 10th-12th, 2011: Free Admission
The largest free blues festival in the world, 5 stages and over 500,000 fans. Search your inner soul and jazz it up! *Special note – Essie is popping up shop and offering FREE manicures with their new Braziliant collection for the summer. Get those digits ready for taking numbers. Ow, ow!
2. Old Town Art Fair – Old Town – June 11th – 12th, 2011: Adults $7 donation, Kids free
Think music, concerts, beer, food, art, jewelry, photography, printing and even a “Gallery of Gardens” (a walk through 50 urban home gardens). By far one of my top favorite festivals of Chicago and a great kick off to the summer season.
3. Wells Street Art Festival – Old Town – June 11th – 12th, 2011: Adults $7 donation, Kids free
Just an extension of Old Town Art Fair. Art, great food, beer and concerts. Saturday night headliner is 10,000 Maniacs (7:45 PM). Whoooo!
4. Party At St. Mike’s – Old Town – June 10th – 12th, 2011: $15 for all weekend access
Basically another part of Old Town Art Fair. Live music, games, drinks and more! Some of my Chicago favorites playing will be Hairbangers Ball (Friday @ 7:30 PM) and Mike and Joe (Saturday @ 6:00 PM). Can you tell Old Town is the place to be?
5. Ribfest – North Center – June 10th – 12th, 2011: Suggested $5 donation
Bands, Rib Eating Contest, 24 competing rib vendors and several kiddie activities. Best not to eat breakfast!
6. Neon Music Marshmallow Festival – East Village/Ukranian Village – June 10th – 12th, 2011: 3 Day Pass $60-$70, $25 day pass, $15 Sunday pass
Again more music! Don’t you love it? This is more like a small Lollapalooza. Be sure to check out the line up!
Decisions, decisions… Where is everyone going this weekend? What bands are you looking forward to the most? Happy Summer Chi Town!
