Now that the weather is finally picking up in the Chi, I have been noticing runners everywhere. Since we have been cooped up all winter, it is time to get outside, take in the city sites and breath in the fresh air. Whether you are single and ready to mingle, want to pick up a new activity (without that hefty gym membership) or just need some motivation, there are so many fun running groups right in front of your nose.
They would be are ideal for meeting new people, getting your body bikini ready, and best of all, they are FREE. No signing up and all you have to do is shown up. Here are a few that sounded good to me:
Lululemon (Rush and Walton) – Every Tuesday at 6:30 P.M. All level runners are welcome. Meet at the Gold Coast location to run a 5K or 10K. Best part is you end at the same spot. So you might as well check out their fabulous and fashionable athletic gear afterwards. Never hurts to look cute while working out!
Niketown (Michigan Ave.) – Every Thursday at 6:30 P.M. – The runs vary in length and everyone is welcome. The best part is you can try out a pair of their shoes during your run. Great way to test drive some kicks before actually making the purchase.
Chicago Hash House Harriers (Varies) – Known as “a drinking club with a running problem.” During the summer, this running club meets every Monday at 7:00 P.M. From what I have read, there is drinking at a venue beforehand and after. Perfect for mingling and chatting up the hottie you noticed during your run!
Have a great weekend Chicago!
