Hola muchachas! As mentioned in the last Windy City Wednesday, Joan Cusack’s Chicago store, Judy Maxwell Home, had a little event. And I went. And I got to meet ‘ol Joanie!
Going with the motto “things that make being home fun”, Judy Maxwell Home does not disappoint. A bit modest at first glance, let your eyes linger a little longer, and you will find all kinds of small treasures and useful gadgets. Each section represents a diorama of different rooms in a house. Let’s take a peak shall we?
{Me, Joan Cusack and my friendy, Britt} |
Fresh faced and makeup free, Joan is just an absolute doll! You can tell how much she loves her shop by the way she speaks about it. My friend, Brittney (thanks for coming love!) and I got to chat with her for a little while. We meet her sons and talked about her dog Spike. Spike likes to sneak out of his fence and roam Cedar Street like a one man wolf pack. Mr. Spike and I run into each other once in awhile, as we are neighbors. But he never runs too far. Good dog Spike, good dog.

With it’s cheerful, whimsical and colorful charm, you simply must pop by Judy Maxwell Home! It’s the perfect spot to create a vignette or add a touch of fun to your home. And you never know…you just might just run into the lovely Mrs. Cusack.
And now for your weekly Chicago round up of city happenings…
- HOT TICKET: If you have yet to do so, make dinner reservations at hot new West Loop restaurant, Nellcote. Dazzling chandeliers and fancy cocktails, it is the perfect place to tuck away. I hear wonderful things and have a table for next week. Yay!
- CHAMPAGNE & COUTURE: Wednesday, April 4th (AKA tonight): Consignment store, Luxury Garage Sale is hosting a little sip and see of gently used designer clothing and glasses of bubbly at Spiaggia. From 1:00 – 7:30 PM, just RSVP to info@luxurygaragesale.com.
- BEST KEPT SECRET: Friday, April 6th: Wine Down at Water Tower – One of the BEST hidden events in Chicago and right under your nose. Try 20 different wines, cheese platters and other yummy treats for just $15. This has been going on for years and is seriously so much fun (my experience here). Hosted the first Friday of every month from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. Tickets purchased upon arrival at Water Tower’s Foodlife.
Happy hump day. Adios!
