I am a wee bit behind, but none the less, have a few new hot spots to share! Not to mention my last “hot spot” post was a bust. So to make up for the lack there of, here are two peeks into the latest and greatest.
Definitely make it a point to check out The J. Parker at Hotel Lincoln’s rooftop for some after work delights this week.

Brownie points for a short cocktail list (I think too many choices are overwhelming) and the view is TO.DIE.FOR.
{Rose Sangria cocktail – SO yummy} |
{Parker Palamo cocktail} |

{view of the lake and lincoln park zoo – you can’t see this anywhere else!} |
With an endless sight of the lake, I HIGHLY recommend reservations. I foresee this a difficult place to get into. You can call here.
Second on the list, I have the new San Francisco based brunch spot, Hash House A Go Go. It’s the newest breakfast nook in the Gold Coast and shares a wall with McFadden’s. I went two Sundays a go with my bf and still can’t figure out how I got him to agree to the 1.5 hour wait (yes, it is that wanted!).

But I am sure the Bloody Mary trip right next door to P.J. Clark’s had something to do with it…
So I highly recommend putting your name in first and then doing the same. They call your cell phone once your table is ready, which is always a plus. Or you can stop by some of my favorite Gold Coast hidden gems near by:
- Judy Maxwell Home – a quirky home goods store owned by Joan Cusack. And she actually works the counter from time to time.
- Flight 001 – a travel store of modern and innovative travel products. The inside is designed to look like the cockpit of an airplane. Pretty cool.
- TeaGschwendner – they sell REAL tea and a stopping spot on Chicago’s famous food tour.
Sorry, I got a little bit side tracked. But anyways, here is a look into our entire experience at Hash House A Go Go.
{quite open and couldn’t get over the mini biscuit mix silo} |
{hmmmm….what to get?} |
{bloody obvi – completely died over the course salted rim} |
{stainless steel and farm-ish details} |
{the boy went with the pancake} |
{the girl went with the banana foster french toast} |
Can you tell we had a sweet tooth that morning? So overall consensus? Food is great but be prepared for the wait. They do not take reservations but if you make a day of it, you will be pleasantly rewarded at the end.
Next stop, RM Champagne Salon. Did anyone get over to their opening this Sunday? Making it happen this week. Promise.
xoxo

It was so fun running into you at Hash House! So jealous you’ve been to J. Parker already.
Looks like you’re continuing to find amazing places around the city to add to my list. Thankyouverymuch.
With a pilot for a husband I’m DYING to check out Flight 001. It looks super. cool.
Great choices! l’m dying to go to the J. Parker!
