TGIF! (That never gets old does it?). So this Saturday, I am going to Ravinia to see Train. Have you ever heard about Ravinia? I am finding there are a good amount of people out there that do not…which is an absolute sin!
Ravinia is a concert venue which mostly consists of grass seating. People plop down blankets, bring wine and prepare a feast right there on the ground. Some concert dwellers go as far as bringing tables with white linen table cloths, candelabras, gourmet food, and sip wine out of crystal glasses. Quite fancy! But my group…we just like to keep it casual. There is nothing like listening to great music amongst the stars on a summery night. Talk about a romantic outside date idea? And the best part is you can take a train straight there. No driving necessary.

I will most likely pack my favorite Sauvignon Blanc and possibly some portable champagne. And while I usually make an assortment of mini sandwiches and an appetizer to share, Pinterest has my wheels turning with this and this. I also am debating not lifting a finger and ordering a picnic hamper to go, curtosey of a charming cheese shop or gourmet deli.
Have you been to Ravinia? What do you like to pack for picnics? I need some suggestions!
Sauvignon Blanc is my fav too! l l might go see Train on Sunday.
I adore Ravinia so much. Hoping to squeeze in one last visit before summer ends!
