If you have walked around The Viagra Triangle lately, you will notice lots of knockdowns, construction zones, and closings. Being the curious cat I am, I did some major snooping. So here’s the scoop!
1. Hunt Club – A new large, swanky steak restaurant is moving in, completed with a top floor nightclub. To be called “Maple and Ash”, the architectural drawing looks super fancy! Find out more here.

2. Jilly’s/Backroom – Frye Boots is kicking up their heels in the Gold Coast and replacing these well known night spots. The Back Room however still made the cut and moved into the old Le Passage/Privet night club. Rumored to open this winter. Read more here.
3. Puma – At one point I heard Arby’s, but the for sale sign points to the desire of a flagship. Can’t complain about that. Get the details here.
4. Once a small park, an atrium is to house an Argo Tea. The only catch…it has to remain open to the public, no purchase required. Opening soon (but sure doesn’t look like it!). Find out more here.
5. The Sutton Place Hotel and The Whiskey Bar – They gone! The Thompson Hotel is moving in (owner of the Roosevelt Hotel in LA and other posh hotels around the country). Fingers crossed for a rooftop lounge. As for the Whiskey Bar, a new restaurant/lounge will be taking it’s spot. This destined-to-be hot spot will be by One Off Hospitality Group (same people as Avec, Big Star, Blackbird and The Publican). So pumped! Opening scheduled for December. You can find out more here.
So what do you think of the new Gold Coast digs? I am most excited for Maple and Ash and the yet -to-be named restaurant in the bottom of the new Thompson Hotel. What about you?!
