{Garnish & Glam Co-founders: Me, Steph and Anna} |
You may have heard some rustlings over here (and Instagram) about this new social club I co-started, called Garnish and Glam. Several people have reached out asking lots of questions, so I thought I would give you all the full scoop today!

My two girlfriends and I realized we know so many wonderful women (co-workers, family, friends, etc.), why not introduce them to each other? And that my friends, is how Garnish and Glam was born.
{bubbly} |
So how does it work? Every month we host an event at a new location, with a guest speaker that consists of mingling, adult beverages, perks and a lesson you can apply to your ever day life.

All new ladies are referred by existing members to create the most comfortable environment as possible. This way everyone knows at least one person versus not knowing a single soul (which can be intimidating!)
{day to night looks} |
Some of our past events have included:
- “How To Style and Layer Statement Necklaces” with a Saks 5th Avenue Stylist at MileNorth Hotel
- “3 DIY Holiday Hairstyles” with Salon Buzz to get you Through the Christmas Parties at Starbucks
- A Shopping and Styling Event at Madewell
{Stylist, Ashley, from The Style Effect, demonstrating how to take a look from day to night} |
Next month, we are teaming up with Goldplaited, a blow out bar and makeup salon. They are demonstrating how to master a bold lip and create the perfect cat eye (I have ALWAYS wanted to know how to do this!). We have so many ideas in the pipeline such as a mixology lesson, a self defense class and other exciting surprises! But I can’t tell you everything right?
If you are at all interested, check out our website and shoot us an email. Just mention Cedar and Rush and we can tell you more about G&G and how membership works. Also, if you have any great ideas or suggestions, I would love to hear that too!
So how do you make new friends?
Do you find it difficult to meet ladies?
What have you always wanted to learn how to do?
For even more info regarding G&G, be sure to check out our “Behind the Brand” interview and Madewell event recap.
Love this idea! It’s the best of both worlds when you can learn something new and meet someone new!
Thanks Megan! P.S. Received your email. Hope you got our response. xoxo
So I stumbled upon your blog a few weeks ago and am loving it! I can totally relate – it’s so hard to make new friends after college! My friend and her co-workers started something similar to Garnish and Glam, but it’s in the form of a book club. Each coworker had to invite 1 or 2 friends and then the next month, those friends had to invite 1 or 2 other friends and so on. It’s pretty great! But I love that you’re teaming up with actual stores, companies, etc. So fun!!
Dana – thank you so much for leaving a note! Because of it I just found your blog and have to say the same to you! The book club is such a great idea. Did you make any new friendships out of it? I am in a book club too and as nerdy as they sound, they are the BEST and seem to some how get a little rowdy.
Hey! Haha just seeing your response 🙂 So glad you like my blog! I’ve made so many great friendships from the book club – probably because everyone bonded more so over the wine than the books. But that obviously only adds to the fun!
What a great concept for a club! When I moved to Chicago I met friends through friends and didn’t really find anyone I really connected to until blogging. Probs to you ladies for starting the club!
Thanks Katie! When did you move to Chicago? The blogging community is so welcoming isn’t it? Although I have a great group of friends through college living in the city, it wasn’t until blogging I meet new people.
i’m 100% in love with this idea. so so smart! it makes me wish i lived in chicago…alas, i’m on a farm in idaho.
