5 Things You Don’t Know About RPM Steak
Scene and Be Seen
RPM Steak was strategically designed to be a “scene and be seen” restaurant. The large, open dining room allows for interaction between tables. The bar is strategically built low so guests have an unobstructed view over the tall liquor bottles. The large mirrors on the walls allow patrons facing the back wall to still see what’s happening behind them. As for celebrity clientele, they built their corner booths to be much larger and more intimate, but still part of the hustle and bustle.
The Millionaire’s Potato
This truffle-topped spud has received a ton of buzz everywhere from Yelp reviews to foodies. But did you know this was a last minute add on to the menu? Much to their surprise, it’s now one of their most successful dishes. They shave the truffles right on the potato and is a MUST at RPM Steak! To die for.
Cinderella, Cinderella
Hidden on top of the light fixtures over the bar is one red Christian Louboutin high heel. This red shoe tradition is a token of good luck and began with the Melman children’s first restaurant opening, Hub51. Rumor has it there is a hidden red shoe at each of their establishments (think a red flip flop at Three-Dots-and-a-Dash). I cannot wait to find the other ones at Paris Club, Bub City, RPM Italian, Aba and more! Tag me on Instagram if you see any!
A Secret Passageway
There’s a hidden entrance and escape for RPM Steak’s celebrity clientele and VIPs. It leads straight to a secret back entrance to the hard to get into Paris Club! I was originally sworn to secrecy, but now that it’s been a few years, let’s let the cat out of the bag! If you’d like to use the entrance too, ask your waiter and they may be able to pull some strings. They did for us!
Dessert
The 14K Chocolate Cake (with real gold flakes!) and Cotton Candy are quite popular on social media. And if it’s your birthday, be sure to mention it so you get a FREE cotton candy surprise. But The Baked Alaska is an ice cream dessert topped with meringue and a flaming rum prepared table side. Quite the show stopper!
How To Get Reservations
RPM Steak averages a three month wait list for weekend reservations. You can call them directly at 312.284.4990. Tip: Don’t go through Open Table as those spots fill up first and fast and not an accurate representation of their availability. Restaurants always save spots for those who call directly, so this is your best bet! And if all else fails, get there right at opening and score a table in the bar! First come, first serve.

A great review of RPM! I believe I’ve only had their hazelnut tartufo before but will definitely stop by for their main course! And how fun to learn about the Cinderella story 🙂 – Lena
