TGIF! Wow, not only is it Halloween but can you believe it is snowing in Chicago? WTF. Well given it is the weekend and I wanted to talk about a fun, light topic…handbags. What do you carry? I have a few on rotate but to be honest, they are not super fancy. I currently tote around two Target handbags and two Kate Spade bags (obsessed!). But the KS ladies in particular have had a lot of love if you know what I mean. I have decided it is time I treat myself to something classic, beautiful and long lasting. It is a piece I will use everyday, so why not make an investment? I have spent the dough on shoes, sweaters, jeans, etc. But a handbag…no dice.
I originally was looking at Kate Spade, Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors and Tory Burch. All classic shapes with durable leather and hardware. Then I moved on to one of my favorite designers, Rebecca Minkoff. Again classic with a bit of a modern twist! But after careful consideration and lots of research, I am really feeling Phillip Lim! I have read amazing reviews and have heard even better feedback from people who own one themselves. And considering ShopBop carries it (no taxes and free shipping!) I feel like it is a win, win.
But before I pull the plug, I would love to get your thoughts on styles and brands that you own or dream of having one day. Do you believe in “investing” or do you prefer to have a lot of options for less?
On a quick side note, I loving the little Chanel perfume cell phone covers (see above). I have been seeing them everywhere in the city! I am pretty sure you can only purchase these in store, but could be wrong. Anyone know?
Happy Halloween friends and see you next week.
I have the Phillip Lim Pashli that I purchased off ShopBop and I love it. I have had it since April and it has stayed in excellent condition. I have it in the taupe – but sort of wish I got the black. Good luck choosing π
Thank you Lindsey! You just keep confirming the Phillip Lim direction I am feeling. I will let you know what I end up getting π
I am a crossbody bag kind of gal. I bought my first one about 5 years ago and I haven’t been able to go back ever since! With that being said, I’m also pretty low maintenance when it comes to my purses, meaning I don’t switch them out often. If you’re going to go big, I like Phillip Lim has it going on π I can’t wait to see what you get. Have a great weekend!
Jessica – could not agree with you more about the cross body. Hands Free! They especially come in handy at cocktail parties – where you have to stand, eat and drink. As always, thanks for dropping a note. You are the best at that!
