Fork To Fashion is a series of outfits inspired by restaurants right here in Chicago. Not only do these apparels mimic the decor, but they fit the dress code as well. Today’s Fork To Fashion is a new restaurant in River North that I keep hearing rumblings of on the street, Oak + Char. Quite excited to give this spot a try!
The billowy light fixtures are what originally captured my attention at Oak + Char. They just perfectly contrast against the solid wood and dark decor! I can picture myself sipping a Frozen Margo or their Hot Toddy’s for Two with my lady friends before a girls night out. And a double date could be quite fun too. Oak + Char considers itself Modern Midwestern with upscale American plates and well crafted cocktails. One thing I love about this place is your experience could be fancy or casual depending on your mood. From foie gras and steak, to cheeseburgers and six packs, you are set. Date night? Perfect. Easy dinner? Covered.
As for the dress code, a combination of casual and dressy fits the bill. This flouncy Tibi cami immediately came to mind, matching the lighting to a T! Keep it casual with some dark skinnies, a Navy cropped jacked from Zara (obsessed) and gray, suede heels. Make it a statement with starry studs, red lips and this boxy hand bag – a nice juxtaposition against the flowy top. This is such an easy, sexy look and works well for something upscale or before you hit the town red.
Have you been to Oak + Char? I keep hearing about it so I cannot wait to try it for myself!
