Network, network, network. Remember when I told you how socializing can set you apart from the crowd? It’s true. I believe this to the depth of my soul and the one area most people fail to focus on. AKA opportunity for YOU to STAND OUT from allllll the competition out there. I spent an entire year dedicated to networking and the opportunities poured through the door.
While I have prioritized my time to creating content and realigning my blog for 2015, I am more strategic on the events I attend. I want to meet new people, see fresh perspectives and find new ideas. It keeps you on your toes!
Insert Creative Chics, Coffee & Collaborations. Melissa Jones, the founder of The CEOffice {coming soon!} hosts a monthly event for creatives and entrepreneurs to meet, collaborate and offer inspiring advice. And of course drink coffee. Or a cappuccino in my case. I attended her January get together and I left feeling rejuvenated and empowered. Small, intimate and comfortable – it is unlike your typical networking gig. The attendees varied in background – from thriving business owners to creative women wanting to meet new people. In addition to swapping stories, a photographer and makeup artist were on hand for professional head shots. And we got the cuuuuutest pencils, encouraging notes and other fun swag.
If this peaks your interest, her next Creative Chics, Coffee and Collaborations is coming up on Friday, February 27th. And it is only $25!
Side Note: To give you a little fun background, Melissa and I became friendly over Instagram, who then attended one of my Garnish & Glam events, who then became my accountability partner! Funny how this whole networking thing works right? Melissa is also the next featured guest on Work Smarter, Not Harder. So more to come on this awesome gal soon!
Thank you for sharing the event Nicole!! I am so glad you were able to attend. I agree with you that networking is extremely important when growing your business, brand, or professional relationships.
I will absolutely have to make it to the next one!
Look forward to meeting you!!
Love this post, lady! Networking is so crucial and it’s a struggle to find a work/life balance with all the events. Post on prioritizing events? It’s so hard to choose!

You are so right Katharine! Seriously, it is something I struggle with so much. I honestly loved this event because I didn’t know one person. Meeting new people in different areas always ignites new ideas for me, which is perfect for me right now as I am re-visiting content ideas and collaborations. Probably depends on what you’re doing right?
