Did you know garden fairies are real?
They truly do exist. I’ve seen evidence!
Let me tell you a story. When I was little, every first day of spring, my mom would welcome me home from school and say, “Nicole, I saw fairies skipping about in the garden! You should go see for yourself!”. My Hello Kitty backpack would drop and I’d run to the small flower bed outside the front of our home.
Wide eyed and bewildered, nestled amongst the purple pansies, I discovered tiny, plated cupcakes underneath a large, glass cake dome. No fairies insight, but clearly they had left these behind. Solid evidence in my book.
After a few moments of fairy searching, my mom would help me carry the Tinker sized cupcakes inside and I would eat them as a treat. Trust me, they were way better than Sprinkles. I remember feeling an overwhelming sensation of magic, completely awakening my imagination. I cannot wait to do this for my little ones someday.
Sam, Peggy and I recently wandered over to the Lincoln Park Conservatory. I have lived in Chicago for seven years and never once been here. Do you know about this place? It is completely free to the public! Boy have I been missing out.
With several areas to explore, Sam showed us the hidden flower room in the back, right after the moss and orchid conservatory. Ponds and all. Isn’t it gorgeous?! Covered by a large glass dome, this warm and bright oasis is the best escape from Chicago’s cold.
Just a little self reflecting here. Pun absolutely intended 😉
Given the time of year, I recently scooped up this floral frock from Zara. The pockets and bell shaped sleeves are everything aren’t they? And my mini Rebecca Minkoff MAB tote surprisingly goes with more than I ever imagined. Talk about a punch of color to any outfit.
So can you believe there are only nine more days till Spring?! Just when you thought the longer days and brighter nights were a plus. Winter is basically over. I highly recommend checking out the Lincoln Park Conservatory as soon as you can. We saw everyone from couples to kids. And we may have spied a few garden fairies too 🙂
