Fork to Fashion: Velvet Taco | Vol. 12

Afternoon siestas and late night fiestas.

Between my brother-in-law (he’s single ladies!) and Instagram, I cannot go a day without hearing about Viagra Triangle’s newest joint, Velvet Taco! Specifically the tater tots. But we’ll get to that in a moment. If you remember the old Subway (next to the old Hunt Club), this is where you’ll find it. Originated in Texas, this diner serves up casual Mexican with a twist – and already reported lines out the door. The secret knock exchange of the backdoor chicken has especially peeked my interest {only $20!}. Oh and the tots? Topped with an over easy egg and supposedly better than the tacos. But I’ll let you be the judge of that. Margaritas, homemade tortillas and fresh ingredients are the name of the game and I can’t wait to salsa my booty all the way there. Perfect before your afternoon siestas and wee morning fiestas (4 AM on Fridays & Saturdays!).

Just as hot as tacos in July, are pom-poms and fringe! They are literally EVERYWHERE and foreseen as summer’s biggest trend. This tote, these bags and these market baskets are all the rage, but I am secretly loving the large statement clutches of Star Mela. The Peri Pouch specifically is only $65 and completely spices up the white shirt, jean combo. If you prefer a the subtle route, can’t you picture yourself wearing this J.Crew coverup to Oak Street Beach and those Anniel sandals to the Soho House rooftop pool. Don’t forget a tropical lip and my new favorite SPF! Gosh summer, where are you?! In the meantime, while we brave the chilly spring, this Tory Burch scarf will heat up that trench coat like a hot tamale. Me gusta!
