Hi friends! So BIG news today…Sean and I are officially moving from Chicago this Friday! Eeeeeek! I cannot even believe it. We are leaving our place in the heart of River North and headed to a very nearby Western Suburb. If you want to know where specifically…Larry may have shared on SnapChat today (Username: cedarandrush). But seriously only 25 minutes away. No Big Deal.
As you know my love for The Windy City will never fade and will continue to be part of my life. I have clients and projects down here, so you cannot get rid of me that fast! Not to mention some of my dearest friends reside in the city. Get those couches ready ladies 😉
I will always associate the city with some of the most challenging and best times of growing up. Finding my first apartment (Cedar & Rush!), career changes, disappointment, falling in love, watching my friends create their own paths, getting married and of course, my little pup Larry. It is crazy to believe how fast eight years has gone by!
From painting the town red, to settling down….to painting the town red…Haha, yeah, that hasn’t stopped too much 😉 Our desire to live a little quieter lifestyle has slowly sneaked up on us. Remember my New Year Resolution to cut down the events? I think my subconscious was telling me something. We want to plant some roots and go on an adventure. All amazing things for Team Regan!
So more importantly, what does this mean for you guys? Well, to be honest, I don’t know! And to be even more honest, I am nervous you won’t want to read Cedar & Rush anymore. Remember that survey you all filled out? Thank you so much by the way! Several of you requested more events and happenings around the city. That scares the sh*t out of me.
However given where I am mentally, no matter if I lived downtown or not, my life is shifting.
One of the most valuable things I have learned in my twenties, is to see the bigger picture. It helps put things in perspective. Those “this is such a big deal!” moments are much smaller than you think. I promise.
The good news is Cedar & Rush is here to stay and I cannot wait to see how it changes with me. Although a lot of things will stay the same, I already have some great ideas in the hopper.
So with that being said, I am wrapping up Chicago with a bow and tying the knot with a slower pace kind of place.
It’s time to see where the wind will blow me and I can’t wait!
As always, thank you so much for following along on C&R and if you have made a city to suburb transition, give me a shout! I need someone to show me the ropes.
Peace out Chicago! And see you next week. Twice. Old habits die-hard right?

Congratulations on the move darling!! Mac and I have always thought about moving to the suburbs in a few years so you might have a neighbor soon!! This is such an amazing time for you two, enjoy!! 😀 <3
I can’t wait to come visit you in the burbs sweetheart!
Nicole, such exciting news for you and Sean. Congrats! Elmurst is great and you’re still so close to downtown, and equidistant between these great downtown Regans and the western suburb Regans 🙂
Congrats and best of luck to your sweet little family on this new adventure. We have been in the burbs for 3 weeks now and loving it! I am currently in city today for shopping, errands and hair appt- so nice to still be close 🙂 xoxo
Congratulations on the move! It is so exciting! I can’t wait to see what all happens. I know you will do well wherever and whatever you do!
I don’t Snapchat so I’m just going to guess you’re going to a place with the initials o and p or at least very close to there 🙂 I lived there, too, when we first moved to the area. I’d actually probably read your blog MORE if you wrote about bringing your beautiful life and style out that way 🙂
Congrats on the move lady and sad to see you go! Good luck with everything and hope to see you around soon. xo
I knew you were moving, but I thought you were staying in the city! I got a little nervous when I saw this headline haha I’m (selfishly) so glad you’ll still only be a short drive away! Phew 🙂 Good luck with the move and I’ll see you soon!! xoxoxo
So exciting, but we will all miss you so much! My couch is always open 😉 xx
My husband finally wore me down 3 years ago to move to the ‘burbs and I don’t regret it at all! I still go to the city for work and mainly for fun several times per month. The nice thing is- I will say it has expanded where I visit in the city. When I lived there I tended to stay in my little neighborhood bubble, now we explore lots of new neighborhoods! You’ll love having space, not having to strategically plan your errands and Larry will be a happy pup!
Good luck with the move! I’ll tell ya what, I had a fast commute to work in the West Loop when I lived in the suburbs than I have NOW living in Wicker Park. It will be easy-peasy for you to get downtown in a jiffy 🙂
Well, I don’t live in Chicago, so missing out on the events won’t be a big deal for me 😉 I’m not going anywhere girlfriend!! I can’t wait to see what you’ve got up your sleeve, I know it will be great! Good luck with the transition!
I used to live at Dearborn and Schiller but now live in south suburbs. You won’t be surprised to find out that the City of Chicago is still always there waiting for you to visit with open arms, it never goes away. Very exciting for your new adventure and a new home, I hope you’ll let us follow your decorating.
Nicole this post could not be more perfect — you are always so open and honest in your prose, not to mention stylish! There’s no way a change of location will change your reader’s devotion to your work. If anything, I look forward to living a simpler lifestyle through your blog! I envy your courage to change your path and move at a slower pace. Life can pass by so quickly, it is so important to take a step back and constantly assess what the right moves are for you.
You’ve gotten me incredibly excited for your new adventures and you KNOW I’ll be visiting you in the burbs! I expect a thorough 411 on the best the west suburbs have to offer! And Apollo and Johnny are terribly jealous of Larry’s newfound suburban freedom — hopefully a giant grassy lawn is in the near future for that deserving pooch.
Xoxo, Sed Bona
Congratulations and good luck! I can’t wait to see what is in store for you with this new adventure (I know it will be great!).
Congratulations! Never fear- I will always read Cedar & Rush though! And you will be so close to the city it will be no big deal! 🙂
Congratulations! What an exciting adventure for you guys! I definitely won’t stop reading your blog! So keep on bloggin’! Have a great weekend!

Congrats Nicole! So happy for you guys. Excited to hear everything about the move 🙂 Your blog will continue to be amazing no matter where you are.
West Suburbs are where it’s at!! We did the switch “pre-kids” from city to suburbs and we love it. All our friends were like are you pregnant?! LOL. Good luck!
