The Working Girl!

The most common question I receive from you guys is “what is a typical work day for you like ?”

The answer? It’s alllll over the place! Sometimes its yoga pants all day on the couch. And sometimes it’s client meetings, projects and events in the city.

However, there is one part that remains the same. The morning family walk. Sean, Larry {my pup!} and I walk to the local coffee shop together. Larry wags his tail so hard. It’s for sure the best part of the day.

As for the other moments, I’m enjoying the city commute since the move! Now that I live in the burbs, I take the Metra in for my weekly meetings/projects. Which vary as well. I went to the city twice last week!

Speaking of business, want to know a great trick for becoming unforgettable in the work world? Vibrant fabrics in classic silhouettes not only stand the test of time but helps you stand out in a crowd. Ever since I switched to freelance, I’ve enjoyed jazzing it up.

Designer, Rachel Roy, does exactly this. Have you ever shopped her RACHEL Rachel Roy line? The pieces fit you so well and her dresses are modern classic! I feel super confident and they even work for those “mandatory” 5 PM cocktails 😉 How about that secret back slit? 100% boyfriend material ladies. Ow, ow!

I know Rachel Roy is no secret but I only discovered her last summer. This dress and jacket {from last year} have been worn every season for all kinds of occasions! I just purchased her girlfriend jeans this weekend and the sundresses are the comfiest. I may have to go back and grab this cotton number.

Just when you fall in love with her clothes, you’ll die over the reasonable price tag! Usually all under $100. If you have an athletic build, curves or some junk in the trunk, I highly, highly recommend incorporating Rachel Roy into your work wardrobe. Surprisingly edgy but completely office appropriate.
