“You don’t have to cook fancy or complicated masterpieces – just good food from fresh ingredients.”
-Julia Child
A few months ago, I attended the most lovely party at Nomi – the Park Hyatt’s exquisite rooftop.
The theme? Farmers Market!
This feast was not only gorgeous, but simple, easy and different – the perfect recipe for an unforgettable event.
White pumpkins, yellow gourds, purple carrots, ruby radishes, and golden squash is abundant this time of year. Seasonal always wins.
Some of my favorite blogger girls, Blair and Arin.
To further inspire, I compiled Nomi’s delightful touches just for you. It’s all in the details after all. I also outdid myself, and put together a video of the entire evening at the end. Not pictured: the live band playing classical music in the background and a warm summer breeze.
Nomi served muddled herb and fruit cocktails. Complete with fresh garnishes, soda bottles and mini mason jars.
Sprays of wild blooms, burlap galore and colorful produce. How easy would it be to replicate these apple and lettuce centerpieces?! Burlap garland does wonders doesn’t it?
Just throw produce into wooden crates for a trés chic display! Who knew white asparagus tied with rubber bands could be this beautiful? And do you see the red onions in the back?
Corn, kale, grass, artichokes, carrots…anything and everything goes! To save on costs, I would recommend hitting the tail end of a farmers market. Farmers are always trying to wrap things up and get rid of their stash – which means discounts.
For a unforgettable presentation, tip charcuterie boards at an angle over french baguettes! This giant smorgasbord of pickled vegetables, cheeses and curated meats made the ultimate focal point of the party.
Notice the bowls of pita and bread resting on top of wooden cutting boards for height. And such a different way to showcase the silverware.
If the fresh baked mini pie table wasn’t enough, each guest received a burlap market bag to fill with flowers and produce of their choice to take home. Decor that double serves for the guests? Genius. They will think about your party for days after!
For the ultimate touch, pass champagne in a charming apron. Like I said, it’s all in the details that make an event standout.
Do you have any fall parties coming up?
Beautiful!!!
