It would be an absolute sin if I didn’t tell you about my new favorite cocktail in the entire land of Chicago. It’s called “The Chicago Politics” and get this….served in a copper pineapple! The copper straw adds to the whole experience. But my favorite part is flipping the pineapple stem upside down – which transforms your tropical glass into this magical stemmed chalice.
As for the drink – it’s spicy, coconut-ty and quite complex. I’m obsessed. This tucked away tiki lounge, can be found inside The Freehand Hostel downtown, River North. Yes, it’s a hostel – but a fancy one! Don’t let it fool you.
Named, the Broken Shaker, take notice of the pine wallpaper. It somehow fits the theme perfectly. I’d recommend this spot for after dinner cocktails and a wonderful date spot. Lively, dark, whimsical but very adult. The energy is electric, which keeps you longer than you anticipated.
Try any good cocktails recently? I’d love to know!
