TGIF Friends!
I have a a surprise for you today. If you are a fine feathered friend (like me), with thin, fine hair you are in luck. I recently scored the best tips to get you that Va-Va-Voom from celebrity hair Stylist, Jill Crosby. I’m talking long term and immediate. Her clients have included Cindy Crawford, Jenny McCarthy, Lucy Liu, Zac Efron and so many more.
My hair is my biggest struggle and I’ve already implemented some of her advice. It constantly lays flat and I can pin up ALL my hair with one bobby pin! This may sound surprising, but I’ve recently been adding Women’s ROGAINE® Foam to my routine to add thickness and volume! I am not loosing hair, but I want to incorporate more long term plans with my hair, rather than the immediate volumizer, teasing, etc. It looks just like a mousse and tingles when you apply – which tells me it’s working. It’s also Jill’s biggest secret these days for maintaining celebrities manes too. You can learn more and try this out for yourself right here if you want to give your hair some extra oomph!
But lets get to the good stuff – straight from Jill Crosby herself!
1.) Jill, you are such an inspiration to women, not only through your incredible work but your hard work ethic. I read in a past interview… “new techniques, new tricks, new possibilities…make you more cutting edge…” Where do you find your inspiration for new things and how do you ensure your clients know these techniques set yourself apart?
I get inspiration from everywhere!!! I love watching other artist in my field create , but I also get so much from artists in all other fields too. I love art in general , but when art meets cause, then something typically very magical happens. This could be why I am so happy to be involved with the folks at ROGAINE®. They want to bring change and hope and they are asking Stylists (artists) to help them.
2.) How does one know (or discover) the best hairstyle/cut for them? This process is always best done between the client and Stylist. Finding a great stylist and getting direction from them is key in creating a look that works best for one’s self.
3.) What long term strategies can women with thin and fine hair do to thicken their mane? Following some simple guides help; reduce the heat on your styling tools; use less tension; work with well train professionals when using chemical treatments; but most importantly; start with a treatment protocol! Women’s ROGAINE® Foam is proven to work on regrowing hair, this is the best “tool” to use.
4.) You’re sitting on the couch, when all of a sudden a hot date asks you to meet them in 10 minutes for a cocktail down the street! What’s the best way to add some “va-va-voom” to your do? Well first …lucky you ! Second, add some voluminzing product to your roots (mousses , root lifter or dry shampoo), flip upside down and use a dryer (on conservative heat , not high!) with your hands to lift that root up till product is dry. Flip back up , shack it out and place it where you like. This is a big go to technique for me on photo shoots, quick volume …Date not included
5.) What’s the number one thing you see women with short hair/thin hair doing wrong? And what can they do to fix it? I find women tend to over layer their hair when it is short. Spiky isnt always a good thing. Even with a short cut , adding layers only where they create demension and detail is necessary. Over layering can cause the hair to look even thinner.
Women’s ROGAINE® Foam product was provided by the brand. I was selected for this opportunity as a member of Clever Girls and the content and opinions expressed here are all my own.
Great post! Thx for sharing. I’m already starting to experience thinning (and I’m only 39) so great to see these types of posts.
