Happy New Year friends! Wow, it’s been awhile hasn’t it? I took a 2 week technology break and spent all my time with loved ones and watching movies. IT. WAS. AWESOME. Sean, Larry and I spent Christmas with my mom and dad (I am an only child) in Madison. Then we rang in the New Year with close friends in Elmhurst. We boiled (live!) lobsters and drank champagne all night long. I may have turned into a pumpkin after midnight but I made it. What about you guys?
I figured everyone would be talking about goals and new starts today, so I kept it more on the fun side! One of the biggest trends for 2016 – I am SO excited about it – is statement earrings! Goodbye chunky necklaces. Hello dangling, fringing, swaying sparklers. They go with anything and there’s no wrong way to wear ’em. Remember the days when it was cool to where wife beaters with chandelier earrings? Just like that, but way classier.
Similar to statement necklaces, the earring counterpart can glam up your sweaters, t-shirts, jeans or add another layer to an already fancy ensemble. They also add pops of color to your neutral outfits and dresses up a pony tail quite nicely! It’s so easy to jump on the bandwagon, you are going to love it.
I’ve rounded up my favorites, how to wear them and where you can buy your own for a fantastic price below.
{Happiness Boutique Peach Statement Earrings c/o, YSL Perfume, Bobby Brown Beach Perfume, Burberry Body Perfume}
My newest two pairs come from the Happiness Boutique. Based out of Germany, this online retailer offers vintage inspired statement jewelry! Not only are their pieces AFFORDABLE, they are offering 10% off right now to readers!
For my first pair, I chose these soft pink, feminine drops. They secretly remind me of the Gal Meets Glam X Bauble Bar collaboration. They go with everything and dangle all day long.
{Happiness Boutique Fireworks Statement Earrings c/o, White Elephant Designs Monogrammed Cocktail Napkin}
Next up, I selected these bright firework bursts. My faves! These are more like large studs (no dangle), but boy do they pack a punch. Talk about making my gray and plane sweaters so happy.
You’ve probably seen these tassels EVERYWHERE. If you haven’t, now you will. These are more of a splurge, but worth it because they go with everything and come in almost every color. The turquoise might have to be mine come Spring Break…
Once you pop on your statement earrings – and feeling fabulous! – I like to add some delicate jewelry to counterbalance. My mother-in-law gifted me this pretty gold Gorjana chain (I haven’t take it off since) and some Forever 21 rings dress up my fresh mani like nobody’s business.
Have you been sporting statement earrings recently? What do you think of the trend? I personally love it, but get slightly self-conscious because I have short hair. Is that weird? But I rock it anyway 🙂
Happy New Year friends!
I think the earrings look awesome with your short hair!

Happy Monday and happy 2016! You look stunning in these photos 🙂 annnd, like I’ve been saying, your photography keeps getting better and better. Teach me your ways! I’m planning another trip to Chicago this year and once it’s on the books, I’m crossing my fingers our schedules link up!
