Do you use serums?
As you age, your skin becomes a hot topic and major priority. Insert Exhibit A here (AKA yours truly).
I’ve talked about my beauty routine in the past, but I wanted to focus specifically on serums. For years I never pulled the trigger because of their price tag. However given I love you guys, I don’t want you to make the same mistake I did. They are the biggest game changer for my face.
My skin FINALLY feels plump, clear and hydrated. I tried to accomplish this with a moisturizer, but serums enhance your face creams and well worth their price tag. I also notice I use less face lotion since I’m applying two things instead of one. So it makes up for itself.
I’ve noticed such a huge difference in using serums – I now apply less makeup, my makeup glides on seamlessly and I look refreshed! All things we want right?
So without further adieu, here are my top three favorite serums I apply every single week and why!
Sustainable Youth Firming and Revitalizing Serum with alasta c/o: This is my newest addition to the rotation and use it the most of all my serums. I even brought it to my Miami trip and felt incredible on my sunburn. Their organic, active ingredient, *alasta, is an Aloe Vera extract – which is what gives you that radiant glow end elasticity! My skin is firmer and my skin tone is even! I have Roscecea so this is very important to me. I apply this several mornings and nights throughout the week. I love that it can be used both morning and night.
Trilogy Organic Rosehip Oil: I got into Rosehip thanks to Kristen Cavallari’s book – Balancing in Heels! Rosehip is known for repairing skin (great for young scars) and diminishing fine wrinkles. I purchased this Trilogy bottle from Wholefoods. It’s organic and rumored to be popular with celebrities. So it must be good right? I use this twice a week and very affordable.
Dermalogica Overnight Repair Serum: I purchased this last summer and it’s still in business ladies! Only 3 drops are needed to do the trick. This is a night time skin repair, reducing fine lines and increasing luminosity by morning. I apply this once or twice a week before bed.
I like mixing up the serums as they do different things. I also feel it prevents your skin from becoming immune to the benefits. I do this with shampoo too!
Do you use serums? If so, what do you use? I never wanted to pull the plug (due to cost) but my skin has never looked better!
P.S. I have another post in the works about the medical side of beauty – think lasers, botox and more!
P.P.S. I am OBSESSED with this brush.
My Serums and More
My Other Favorite Beauty Buys!
I just started using a serum a few months ago! I’ve been using Vintner’s Daughter (super pricey, but I love it). Anxious to hear more about lasers! I have really bad melasma on my forehead (so annoying) so I reached out Grace over at The Stripe and a few of her friends recommended IPL lasers. I’ve just started doing my research….tell me everything you know 🙂
