Do you know your passion?
With life being so busy, it’s tough to set time away for yourself and work on something you love. Especially with all those responsibilities! Don’t you hate it when your job gets in the way?
I believe you can have big passions and mini passions that change like the wind. The best way to know your passion is recognizing the one thing you think about all the time. For me, it’s styling and photography. If you’ve followed me on Cedar & Rush for a while, you know I’ve upped my game in the image department. How did it happen? I knew I wanted Cedar & Rush to showcase better imagery. I just didn’t know how.
So you know what I did? I researched cameras for a full month. Saved every penny. Bought one. And I’ve been teaching myself something new every single day for a full year.
Photography is on the brain at all times. When I see something pretty or go to pick out a new outfit – I’m always thinking – “oh this would make for a perfect photo!”. When I can’t sleep, I read photography tips under the covers on my phone. It’s obsessive. But since it’s my passion, it doesn’t feel like a chore. I’m excited.
So today I am PUMPED to not only give you the opportunity to share your passion, but the chance to win a mentor in that very field to guide you!
Say whhaaaat right?! I pretty much wish I were you and you were me so I could enter too. Thanks to Rémy Martin, they are giving you a chance to actually give your dreams a real go, with an expert cheering you on.

One of the benefits most people don’t think of when pursuing their passion, are the people you meet along the way. Picking an expert’s brain over a decent cocktail can do you wonders. There’s something to say about bonding face to face with like minded people. You get so much more in person versus over the phone or social media. And of course – a little liquid courage can get you places. My new favorite cocktail is the Rémy Rosé – which I made up by the way. Isn’t it beautiful? I told you I’ve come a long way.
Here’s the recipe if you decide to talk passions over a little bubbly yourself! Just don’t forget to cheers and use my favorite cognac – Rémy Martin. They select only the finest grapes from the best growing regions in the Cognac region of France. The most important part is it pairs well with champagne. Here is how it’s done.
The Rémy Rosé Cocktail
Ingredients
- 1 oz Rémy Martin VSOP Cognac or Rémy Martin 1738
- fresh lemon juice from a slice of lemon
- 1 oz Agave Syrup (you could also use sugar or a sugar cube)
- 1 bottle of sweet sparkling rosé (champagne does the trick too!)
- Lemon peels and mini roses
Directions
In a cocktail shaker, combine Rémy Martin, fresh squeezed lemon juice, agave and ice. Shake vigorously. Pour and distribute the mixture evenly between three to four champagne glasses. Top with ice cold sparkling rosé. Garnish with a rosette and lemon peel as desired. Let your guest marvel over the beauty. Sip and enjoy!
So tell me, what is your passion? If you had all the money and time in the world, what would you do? Who would you want to meet? I encourage you to pursue you own passion by entering this mentorship sweepstakes. These opportunities only come around once in awhile!
First things first, both the styling and photography here are out of this world. I truly mean it when I say that! I’ve loved watching your photos evolve, and you certainly make me want to invest more time and effort into what I’m sharing on my own blog. I’m most definitely entering this sweepstakes, but I’m trying to think of how creative I can get with the one image I share! Perhaps you have some ideas for me?! 😉
When people ask me what I would do if I could do anything…I always come back to blogging and it wasn’t until recently that I embraced that without feeling embarrassed. I’ve learned that it’s okay to have dreams and aspirations that others don’t quite understand. I even told the AVP of my department in my last job about my blog and much to my surprise, she didn’t think it was silly.
There is so much room for growth in my writing (and don’t even get me started on my brand/aesthetic/iPhone photos) and I think that’s a huge part of why I’m still doing it three years later.
26 and Not Counting
