Oh yoooooo hooo!
It’s the ol Nicoli here.
Last weekend Sean, my mom, dad, aunt and I went to a Ravinia concert. Have you been yet? It’s my all time favorite summer activity in Chicago.
If you have no clue what Ravinia is, “it’s a 36-acre park, nestled in a gently wooded area that makes for an enchanting place to experience music.” The best part? You can bring your own picnic and adult beverages.
I’ve been going for 6 years. My first time involved me and my girlfriend (hi Jessica!) with 2 bottles of wine and a wadded up couch blanket. Oh hi 22! Five years later, I’ve graduated to candelabras, quilts, picnic baskets and eclairs.
My how times have changed ?
However each experience is just as fun. My point? It doesn’t matter how you do it. Just get here ASAP.
I wore my new shirtdress and easy slides to slip on and off. So comfy and kept me warm once the sun went down. I also wore this dress to a client meeting with heeled sandals.
Random side note, but Ravinia secretly makes for a great “meet the parents” activity. No such thing as awkward silences when you are “listening to the music”. My friend did this with her boyfriend’s family one time and she loved how it took the pressure off.
Have you been to Ravinia? If so, what do you like to bring?
EVERYTHING BUT THE PICNIC BASKET!
