Today I’m proposing a different Fall entertaining idea.
Instead of your typical dinner party, invite your closest friends for an evening of spiked hot chocolate and a gussied up s’more bar by the fire! Stay cozy and stylish with faux fur throws, savory bites and of course, alllll the chocolate!
I invited Kelly over for just the occasion and had to share! My mom helped me style the entire thing. She makes everything look out of a magazine. Thanks mom!
A HUGE trend right now is bringing the indoors out and the outside in. You can find everything stylish and functional from ATG Stores. Here we went with pieces that elevate your parties, but double as decor – well before and after your guests arrive!
Below are my best tips for throwing your own. It’s easier than you think and you’ll be known as the unforgettable “Hostess with the Mostest”.
SNUGGLE UP
Outside: Keep guest attire to cozy sweaters and stylish boots. For extra warmth, have blankets and throws on hand. Guests can snuggle up as the sun goes down. These luxurious fur throws bring texture and remind me of a fancy ski chalet. We chose different shades (this, this and this). Add plaid blankets for a pop of color. Layer on benches and chairs for a gasp worthy first impression!
Inside: Drape one fur throw on your sofa or guest bed. Guests will sink right in and never want to leave!
SET THE MOOD
Outside: Ambiance is everything guys! And one of the most over looked entertainment tricks in my opinion. A tip? Lighting. This chic fire pit doubles as lighting and entertainment {s’more making!}. Sean and I love the way it looks on our patio.
But don’t leave it all to the bonfire! We scattered these lanterns on the hot cocoa bar, tree stumps and more. Now we’re really settin’ the mood!
Inside: Place lanterns on bookshelves, window sills or your staircase for extra decor and ambiance.
ON DISPLAY
Outside: Display your treats and goodies as decor, by arranging mini vignettes. Different heights add dimension. This rustic farmhouse cheese board makes for a stylish tray to serve and transport your treats safely.
Inside: It’s so pretty! Place this wood cheese board on your kitchen counter for display.
THE GOODIES
Outside: Obviously the food is where it’s at! But it doesn’t have to be complicated. We went all out with chocolate chips, caramels, campfire marshmallows, BOURBON marshmallows, graham crackers, chocolate bars, rolled cookies, chocolate sauce and whipped cream. But serve just a fraction of these delectables and you’re still good to go!
We couldn’t help ourselves with these snuggle hot chocolate mugs. A real glass is quite unexpected from paper cups.
Inside: These mugs will come in handy all winter long! Especially filled with hot cocoa under a fur throw 😉
So tell me! Do you like to entertain this time of year? Any hostess tips you’d like to share?
Now be a doll and pass the hot cocoa please. Cheers friends!
