During this dreary season, nothing spices things up like an unexpected affair.
Over the holidays I won a Private Chef Dinner Giveaway from Party Slate. Which is basically like winning the lottery!
It’s the perfect winter activity when we’re all stuck inside. And a fun twist from going out or hosting your own dinner party.
If you’re not familiar with Party Slate, it’s the equivalent of My Domaine but for Entertaining. When I received their fun giveaway announcement in my inbox, I immediately entered. And low and behold I won!
Below is a recap of our night. I know my photos aren’t the best (indoor, night time photography is TOUGH), but I still think they recap the night beautifully!
Not only was this our first dinner party in our new home, but Chef Charles and his sous chef were a blast. Which added to the whole dynamic of the party.
If you’ve never hosted a Private Chef Dinner Party, here’s why you should do it:
- No grocery shopping
- Since you’re not cooking, you can enjoy your own party
- You can play the music you want, as loud as you want (things may have got wild)
- ZERO clean up (one of the best parts!)
- Your guests are psyched
- THE FOOD IS AWESOME
- You feel comfortable and cozy
- You get to drink the good stuff w/o the surcharge of restaurants
If you don’t want to front the bill for your guests, I suggest splitting the cost between you and all your friends. By the time you break it down, it’s the equivalent to going to a nice dinner and you get way more cocktails/wine and a longer experience.
I must point out the chef, Chef Charles Webb specifically, isn’t just any chef. His team flies around the world serving the most elite clients. I’m talking executives, yachts, the works. His Instagram account {over 35k followers} speaks for itself.
Given our dining table only seats 6, we cleared out our living room and set up a long table next to our Christmas Tree! We used white table clothes, red glasses and lots of candles and lighting to holiday it up! A huge thanks to my mom who donated all her glorious decor (what would we do without moms!).
I wore a long floral dress, along with my Birdies (aka fancy slippers) that night. Although I wasn’t cooking, it’s important as a host to be comfortable and stylish. I loved my dress because it allowed me to bustle around filling drinks, chatting and checking in on the chef. I even sat cross legged at the dinner party and no one Knew 😉
Such a fabulous evening and I couldn’t thank Party Slate and Chef Charles enough. We kicked off the evening with a few tasty appetizers. The whipped marscapone cheese, with fig and black truffle honey was my fav. For the main course, we were served homemade butternut risotto; Brussel sprouts; truffled mashed potatoes; and short ribs. Blew us away.
The cake was the grand finale, with was made the most expensive chocolate in the world! Heaven. Chef Charles and his team lingered afterwards and enjoyed a glass of wine with us. His stories traveling the world were entertainment in itself!
If you’re looking for something DIFFERENT, I couldn’t suggest Chef Charles and his team enough. And no, I wasn’t paid to say this. We had so much fun I had to tell you guys all about it! And thanks again Party Slate for the most fabulous night. I’d sign up for their newsletter stat in case they do it again.
Have you had a private chef dinner party before? It’s absolutely worth it!
