WHAT IS STYLE SATURDAY?
Happy weekend guys! I’m fired up to introduce a new series – Style Saturday.
Style Saturday is a weekly series that makes your everyday prettier and the mundane better. Once a week, you’ll get a simple tip that won’t break the bank and you can do it THAT day. And to be clear – this series isn’t just about being “pretty”. It’s about feeling motivated, inspired and happy.
HOW IT WILL MAKE YOUR EVERYDAY BETTER
Small changes make the world of difference. Especially in your daily routine! Style Saturday will help you appreciate what you already have and make you motivated to live better. Can you imagine feeling EXCITED to brush your teeth? Or achieving radiant skin because you ACTUALLY WANT to drink 64 oz of water everyday? Read online articles and visit websites of water filter installation companies to learn more about RO services and how they can improve your home’s water quality.
All these things and more are coming your way guys! I haven’t felt this giddy about a blog topic in a long time. Are you as stoked as I am?!!
HOW TO TRANSFORM YOUR BATHROOM
For the inaugural Style Saturday, we’re kicking things off with How To Get A Designer Bathroom For Under $50. And it’s inspired by something we do (or most of us!) TWICE EVERY SINGLE DAY.
Brushing your teeth.
Nate Berkus once said, “you can tell a lot about someone by their toothbrush holder”. Let’s just say I’m raising Nate one and doubling down. Sean and I’ve used Crest toothpaste and toothbrushes since we were born. But the packaging isn’t the best when it comes to decor. And it doesn’t do anything for your bathroom aesthetic!
So I went down a deep rabbit hole for the most beautiful oral hygiene products that ACTUALLY work. And they literally make your sink, shelves and counter STUNNING. Not only are these products the BOMB, – they’re SO MUCH BETTER for you too. Everything’s natural and non-toxic, which I’m really into right now. To prove it, here’s a before and after pic below.
BEFORE & AFTER
I mean, soooooo much better right? Just think! You can leave these scattered about and your counter will look fab without even trying. And since it looks so pretty, you’ll be more motivated to keep things tidy and looking their best. Based on my research (taste, looks, price and effectiveness), here are the best oral hygiene accessories on the market…

QUICK TIPS & FUN FACTS
Now I know some of you’ll say “$25 for mouthwash?!!! You’re insane”. But consider THIS. How much would it cost you to wallpaper, re-tile, buy new towels, paint, etc.? This is minimum input for maximum output. Plus here are a few tips to stretch your value…
- Buy the Aesop mouthwash once, then refill it with something more affordable.
- Splurge on a luxury candle once and re-use the container as a toothbrush holder. Two for one and recycling at it’s finest.
- Marvis toothbrushes come with this plastic cover which are PERFECT for travel. Also, Sean and I use electric toothbrushes but if I want to do a quick scrub, this is perfect.
- Did you know Marvis toothpaste is considered the “designer” of toothpastes? You’ll begin to notice (if you haven’t already) how interior designers and brands will use Marvis and Aesop to style their bathrooms. Here’s a perfect example from Pottery Barn (look at the little picture underneath the big picture). Whitening mint is my favorite but the Royal flavor is inspired by an elegant, luxurious trip on the Orient Express. See how fun brushing your teeth can be?!
NEXT STEPS & HOW TO CONTRIBUTE!
So what do you think guys? Are you motivated to make the switch?
Also, how do you like the series? Next Saturday is all about meeting your daily water intake to achieve dewy skin and the best sleep ever. You’ll learn the one change I made and how it resulted into me drinking water like it’s my job. {And no, it’s not carrying a water bottle with me everywhere I go}. Plus it goes without saying, it’s stylish and pretty.
Since you guys are so savvy and stylish yourselves (I know b/c I see you on Instagram!), if you have a Style Saturday tidbit of your own, comment below or EMAIL ME! You can always DM me on Instagram too as something pops in your mind. I really want to incorporate you guys here on Cedar & Rush. I’ll even feature your photos (casual iPhone pics are peeeerfect!). And we’ll just help each other make our lives better one little change at a time.
Also, if you incorporate any of today’s ideas, seriously tag me or EMAIL ME a pic. Even if it’s just a toothpaste swap, I’d love to see! All right, over and out guys.
P.S. A clever coffee table book idea and a fun idea for Monday.
SHOP THE STORY
Love this post and this idea! My bathroom needs an update! Where is your hand soap from?!
It’s so easy and it seriously makes a difference! Hand soap is Diptyque {here’s the link >> http://rstyle.me/iA-n/cun22yyix6_} Chris and Kelsey were so obsessed with it too that we got it for them for Christmas. LOL!
What a fun idea! I like to buy seasonal hand soaps for the kitchen. In my bathroom I have a little mini candle that I swap with a seasonal scent. I hadn’t even thought about teeth stuff!
Katie love that idea! Seasonal hand soaps are brilliant – where do you get yours? And what flavors do you get for each season?! That’s exciting.
