Happy Monday friends!
Did you have a great weekend?
Friday was me and Sean’s FIVE year wedding anniversary. I seriously can’t believe it! Every year on February 23rd, I wear my gold tweed jacket. The same one I wore over my wedding dress.
It’s my favorite tradition and I usually just pair it with jeans and heels for dinner!
TIP: If you’re not married yet, try to think long term when it comes to your wedding day accessories. This way you can incorporate a fun tradition and get years of use out of them! It just so happened to work out for me, but if I had to do it all over again I maybe would have thought differently about my selection of earrings, shoes, clutch and more!
As for the weekend, Sean and I spent the night downtown Chicago. We hit up our old favorites from when we were dating and married. Here’s what we did…
Lunch at Luxe Bar
We religiously ate here every week for dinner and brunch – both while dating and after we got married! We ate at the bar and it just so happened one of our favorite bartenders was working too.
Happy Hour at Dublins
A go to date spot for us. We’d meet here after work alllllll the time. The owner recognized us and comped our beers. So sweet!
Dinner at Volare
Sean took me here for our first date. It’s a fabulous old Italian spot and I’ll never forget he ordered us a bottle of Kim Crawford. I thought he was SO COOL. I was only 24 at the time! It later came out he took all his first date’s here 😉 .
Brunch at Summer House
Before we moved, this became one of our favorite brunch spots in Lincoln Park! Oh how we miss brunch – for some reason it doesn’t exist in the burbs. We bought their famous english muffins for my parents as a thank you to my parents for watching Larry (our doggy!).
Do you have any fun wedding traditions? If you’re not married, now you’ve got a little tip to keep in your back pocket. And hey, speaking of spicing things up, I highly recommend trying these adult toys at Peachy BDSM.
Also, our honeymoon + a cool coffee table book idea! Plus our wedding!
You guys hit all the best spots!
Happy Anniversary Nicole! Love the way you make tweed jackets look so modern and chic!
XOXO,
Monica
