What up home skillets?! How’s life? Want long, sexy legs? I had a hunch you might.
When it comes to picking out my outfit, I make sure I feel great once it’s on. I’m so much more confident – which makes me friendlier, happier and just more enjoyable to be around!
So I go around scooping up all these fashion tips that help me look my best. ‘m sharing two of these tips today!
Unless you have “legs for days”, us shorties and ladies with curves have to make our wardrobe work for us! We can’t get away with the same stunts you long legged girls can.
I’ve found there are two major techniques when it comes to looking slimmer in pants. These work no matter your size, the price point of your pants, the material or season.
And guess what? You can do them RIGHT NOW. Here we go…
2 WAYS TO MAKE YOUR LEGS LOOK SLIMMER TODAY
- The hem of your pants should fall right above or on the ankle bone: I learned this from my favorite blogger, Liz of Sequins and Stripes {Who actually styled me once! Talk about going waaaaay back in the Cedar & Rush archives}. The reason this works is because it reveals the smallest part of your leg – AKA your ankle. Which gives the illusion the rest of your legs are the same width. ACTION STEP: Assess all trousers, skinny jeans and leggings in your closet (THIS DOESN’T APPLY to wide leg or boot cut). If the hem falls past your ankle bone, get them tailored! I promise it makes a world of difference and it’s such a simple fix. And waaaaay more affordable than buying new pants. If you aren’t sure, or need a quick fix, simply roll a slim cuff up to your ankle bone.
- Nude shoes: Whether it’s heels, flats or sandals – matching your shoes to your skin tone elongates your legs. It’s like an extension. Darker shoes can cut you off at the ankle, making you look shorter or stumpier than you are. Especially flats. This is why you’ll find half the shoes in my closet are nude! I look at nude kicks as insurance because they go with everything and they’re extra flattering. Action Step: Take inventory of the flats and sandals you currently own. If you don’t have a decent pair of nude shoes for Spring or Summer, make this a priority on your next shopping trip! FYI – This tip works for dresses, shorts and culottes too!
Now combine these two tips and you’ve got yourself a ruthless combo. Can you say TNT DYNAMITE?
If you need some nude shoes, I’ve got you covered above. I just got mine for under $30 and they’re 100% vegan leather! The patent makes them look way more expensive than they really are.
As for the pants, these leggings will fool anyone! They look like a nice pair of trousers but comfortable like a legging (the best if you work in a corporate office). I probably need to get them hemmed just a touch but they look pretty good! And after writing this, I see a visit to tailor in my very near future.
Hope these tricks help you as much as they did me! It was like a light bulb went off.
