Hi friends!
I hope you had a lovely weekend. Today’s temps are in the seventies. Wahooooooo! Not only did I bust out a short dress, but we’re getting our new patio put in today! So to say summer is on the brain is an understatement.
Here are a six things I do every year at this time. I hope my list sparks some new ideas for you to try too.
6 Things To Try Right Now
Swap Out Hair Products: Mixing up your hair products is the easiest way to spruce up your strands when they’re laying flat. Did you know your locks get immune to the benefits of your products if used every day? So it’s important to change up your shampoo, conditioner and masks! Right now I’m using Redken’s All Soft product line and it’s glorious. After one day, I had more volume but my strands were still soft and natural. If you’ve been using the same brand for awhile now, head to your closest Hair Cuttery to pick up something new today!
Plant Flowers: It’s finally warm enough to get your tulips, pansies and daffodils on! I finished our front porch planters and we hung up new window boxes this weekend. I found some major window box inspiration from Charleston last year and plan to get them done by next week!
Spring Scents: I just changed out our wintery, cozy candles for something fresh and breezy. We’ve been burning this one every night.
Sun Hats: The ultimate accessory and makes any hair day a good day! The stores are well stocked right now and they add extra texture and dimension to any outfit.
Morel Mushroom Hunting: If you didn’t know, my family has a long tradition of morel mushroom hunting. I was born and raised in Oklahoma after all! If you’ve never had morels, they are very difficult mushrooms to find and taste deeeeeelicious! Which is why they’re expensive at grocery stores (around $35/lb at Eataly). It’s officially “morel season” so my mom and I are heading up to Galena on Wednesday to find our own. I’ll be sharing all about it!
Farmer’s Market: The farmers’ markets always start in May! I can’t wait to pick up fresh produce and browse all the flowers, cheeses and veggies. Larry and I walk to ours every Wednesday.
So tell me below! What are you doing in preparation for summer? Anything exciting?
