You may have seen on Instagram my mom and I attended the Chicago Baby Show last weekend at Navy Pier. Given it’s my first pregnancy, we were over the moon pumped to check out all the new baby gear and get the low down on the “it” items to have. My mom and I were in all our glory pretending to be a mom and grandma! Even if you aren’t a mom or pregnant, I always find it interesting to know the “cool gear” all the celebs use. Because you never know when you’ll be invited to the next baby shower!
Here are the top 5 celeb baby trends I’m seeing! P.S. I’m counting high profile bloggers as celebs too. Because, well, I’m a blogger…
UPPAbaby Vista Stroller
It used to be allllll about the Bugaboo. But there’s a new sheriff in town mamas! Meet UPPAbaby. Specifically the UPPAbaby Vista. Every blogger and hot mamma is tootling this stroller around town and I can’t wait to be part of the club! It’s sleek, super light, functional and obsessed with the REAL leather details. Plus it drives like a dream boat. I mean if this star list doesn’t speak for itself, I don’t know what does. I’m getting it in white, along with the car seat and cannot WAIT to take our baby for walks and out to dinner in it {haha is that weird?!}.
Stokke Crib and Tripp Trap Highchair
A very well known NYC mommy blogger {who we will not name} gave me the low down on what all the cool Manhattan moms are using {she lives in Manhattan!}. Stokke came up again and again and again! There are two products specifically.
The Stokke Sleepi Crib. If there’s one thing you’ll learn about Stokke is it’s their multi-functional, minimal Norwegien design. EVERY detail is so thought out and beautifully executed. The 4-in-1 crib starts as a bassinet and transforms to a toddler bed as your child grows. This is the exact crib {in white} we are putting in our nursery!
Following suit, the Tripp Trap highchair is designed to grow with your child for LIFE and a staple for Manhattan families. It converts from a high chair to big kid chair and beyond. I received an overwhelming amount of responses from you guys on my Instagram stories! The consensus? “A splurge but SO, SO worth it. We are OBSESSED!”. Based on your responses alone, this is 100% going on the registry.
Baby Bjorn
A few interesting stories. While at the Baby Bjorn booth, their marketing team told us about two recent celeb sightings wearing their carriers that caused their website traffic to go B-A-N-A-N-A-S! The culprits? Something Navy and Khloe Kardashian.
Something Navy is constantly toting Esme in this {it’s on her stories all the time!}. But she recently switched from the mini to the regular since Esme is growing {I know this thanks to her comment in this post. Haha!}. Khloe Kardashian posted a Snapchat of her babe in this, which caused Baby Bjorn’s website traffic to go off the charts!
I found this next story to be FASCINATING too. And a crazy indicator on how our world is highly influenced by social media. Baby Bjorn’s famous bouncer has exploded thanks to Instagram. Reason being, parents love to post their baby’s #ootd {outfit of the day} on Instagram in their bouncer. Why? Unlike other chairs, the bouncer is shallow. So you can see the baby’s entire outfit {instead of being cocooned and engulfed in a chair, carrier, swaddle, etc.}. Also, babies apparently LOVE it. Crazy right? Another item going on the registry!
Snoo Smart Sleeper
So this is the “it” baby item to have right now. Sadly I don’t have a photo to share. This miracle bassinet saves parents hours of sleep. It’s pretty crazy how it works. Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis, Molly Sims, Jessica Beil and Justin Timberlake are huge fans too! If you’ve never heard of it, you’ll start seeing it everywhere. But it’s priced accordingly! I asked my mom friends “is it worth it?”. Several said “if it’s in the budget, DO IT.” Others said, their babies didn’t like it. One even said how their first baby didn’t like it but their second baby did! So we will see. But you can’t deny the design is stunning.
Micuna Highchair
Consider this the Eames designer chair for babies! Apparently a lot of affluent city parents purchase this highchair given it’s sleek design and takes up minimal space. I mean….isn’t it gorgeous?! Also, this chair is all one piece and nothing moves or comes apart (even the tray). Which makes it super functional and easy to clean.
Fascinating to hear what’s trending in the baby world right? If you are expecting or going to be a new mom next year, I HIGHLY recommend checking out the Baby Show. It started in New York and LA and just came to Chicago. To give you an idea of how much fun we had, I originally planned on going for two hours max. But ended up staying for six! Haha. Given this is my first pregnancy, I learned SO much about babies and what to look for in products, so it was a great learning experience for me. Plus I feel way more confident about creating a baby registry list too.
