Hi friends! How have you been?
As some of you may have seen, I recently attended the Sears grand re-opening in Oakbrook {bump and all!}.
To paint a picture, I go to Oakbrook weekly. I know. It’s a problem! And I’ve been eyeing the Sear’s renovation for well over a year now. So to finally go and see it was quite a treat. Not to mention the OG Charlie’s Angel, Jaclyn Smith, was in attendance. So no brainer there.
I went alongside my favorite blogger babes, Arin, Johanna, Caitlin and Danielle! And we all agreed, this isn’t just any Sears. It’s a fancy Sears. Which I appreciate with all my heart. I had no idea what to expect and especially loved cruising all the high-end appliances and electronics. You guys, the trends for refrigerators, washing machines and dishwashers these days are out of control. Did you know you can order groceries from a touch-screen on fridge doors now? Yeah…So if you are big into interior design, Sears has all the latest and greatest in one spot. There’s also a hefty holiday department where you can get ahead of all your Christmas decorating. As for me? I picked up a few new items for Baby ‘R’. But before we move on, I have a treat for you!
In honor of the re-opening, Sears is giving one lucky Cedar & Rush reader a FREE $100 Sears Gift Card! To enter, follow the directions in the giveaway below.
Now back to where we were. The highlight had to be meeting Jaclyn Smith! She recently launched her own clothing line in collaboration with Sears and was there to show it off. I love this tweed jacket for $30! When Jaclyn saw I was expecting, she insisted on buying me something from her baby line – called Spencer Layette – inspired by her granddaughter. This little onsie set and fox outfit came home with me. And I of course like to brag that baby ‘R’ got a present from a REAL Charlie’s Angel. No big deal.
Last but not least, I picked something for the baby room! Sean and I love Nest products. Do you have any? Given Sean’s obsession, he asked me to get a Nest smoke detector for baby ‘R’. We have one in our kitchen and basement, but Sean wanted that extra feeling of protection for the baby. He’s going to be such a good dad! The cool thing about Nest is you can control all of their products from anywhere {even out of state} from your phone. Not to mention you get alerts on your phone too. The smoke detectors talk to each other and will tell you EXACTLY what’s happening in the room you put it in. For example we get the alert “there is smoke in the kitchen” almost everytime I cook 😉 Haha!
If you ever go to Oakbrook, be sure to pop in the new Sears. It’s quite impressive and with the holidays coming, you can knock out several gifts in one spot. Especially for the men.
A huge thanks to Sears for sponsoring this post!
