Happy November friends!
We are officially in the throws of the holiday season. Can you believe it? I’m so excited to embrace every single day of it too. Behind the scenes I’ve been doing quite a bit of prepping.
I am slightly freaking out too because this is my LAST Thanksgiving and Christmas as just me, Sean and Larry. AKA non-mom. So my theme this year? Keep it stylish but simple and get ahead so I can do things that make me happy without feeling stressed. Like…
Decorating cookies with my mom {it’s our tradition!}, making my family and friends feel special with personalized gifts, putting Christmas tea on the calendar, snagging tickets to The Nutcracker and maybe even hosting a brunch or cocktail party!
So I figured we could all get ahead together. Next year at this time I’ll have a nine month old child. Like whoa! Is this really happening?! So I just want to soak in all the magic and do all the things!
I have a TON of great posts lined up for you, so here’s a taste of what you can expect for the holidays on Cedar & Rush. Plus how it will differ from other blogs.
Whether you find just one thing helpful or all of it, let’s make a pact to stay present, spend quality time with loved ones and not let the chaos get the best of us.
So check out Cedar & Rush weekly for all your holiday tips and tricks!

How To Decorate Your Home For The Holidays
This is by far the most requested topic I get from you guys. And I like to make the most of what we already have. Gotta save money for gifts right? I plan to do another holiday home tour. Some more fireplace inspiration. How to double food and drinks as holiday decor {yes, it can done!}. And get your front porch festive and cheery as can be. I’m no interior designer {although I wish I was!}. But sometimes tips from regular people are the best ones.
Easy, Festive Cocktails & Appetizers
Whether you’re hosting or attending, lets keep the drinks and food easy as pie. So you can spend more time dressing up and chatting with your girlfriends! My focus is minimal ingredients, little to no cooking and yummy items that can be whipped up last second.
Unique & Personal Gift Ideas For the Hard To Find
I PRIDE myself on giving you gift ideas that are truly unique and special. Versus gift guides that are crafted solely on making commissions and affiliate links. I have so many cool ideas that won’t earn me a penny, so I think you’ll love what I have in store for you! Oh! And I’m going to concentrate on gift suggestions for the hard to find people in your lives. Like the person who has everything, men, in-laws, bosses and did I say men? But don’t worry! I’ll have stuff for us to secretly buy for ourselves and the easy people in your life too.
Also, don’t forget about my Gift Finder! I’ll be updating that with stocking stuffers, gift wrap, gifts under $25 and more.
Holiday Party Attire
When it comes to holiday parties, whether they’re big or small, I’ve got you covered with what to wear! My goal is to give you “formulas” and “combos” versus “buy this exact top and dress”. Because let’s get real – I have a bump – so that throws a monkey wrench into things 😉 Plus this way, you can use what you already have, stay in budget and just add what you need.
Okay did I miss anything? If so, please email or DM me! I hope you guys are as excited as I AM!
A huge thanks to Arin for snapping these pics =)
