When I was pregnant, a dear friend passed along the BEST new mom advice…
“Anything you want to do, DO IT. Go on the trip. Meet your friends in the city. Go shopping.”
I remember thinking to myself… “obviously!”. But once Penelope arrived, I quickly realized this is NOT the case.
Tasks that once took fifteen minutes, now take hooouurs. I found myself declining invitations and making excuses to stay at home. All because getting around with a baby is new and lots of work.
The mere thought of navigating through a sea of tables in a restaurant made me sweat. How would I open a door one handed with a stroller? Is the car seat fastened tight enough? What if Penelope has a melt down in public?
The next thing you know you haven’t left the house in days and feel insane! Which is why the advice to “do it anyway” is important.
After two months of hibernating, I decided to take my friends advice and run with it. I scheduled lunches; I posted up at coffee shops; and even went shopping – all with Miss Penelope in tow. My first time out solo with ‘P’, I almost left the parking lot with the car trunk open. Oye!
But every time got easier and easier. So when the time came we had an appointment or an actual time commitment, I knew I could do it!
UPPAbaby VISTA Review
One brand that gave me the courage to do this early on was UPPAbaby. The VISTA stroller, MESA baby car seat, Bassinet and accessories aren’t just individual products. They all work together as a team, so you can get from point A to point B as effortlessly as a first time mama can. From the house, to the car, to your destination, and back again with ease! Even my husband said “thank God we have all this!”.
UPPAbaby products have come in handy for the every day and those “tricky” scenarios. We’ve brought Penelope to multiple parties, enjoyed dinner at nice restaurants and even booked a trip to the Bahamas!

The Benefits of UPPAbaby You Can’t See
- You can still go to non-kid friendly places. If there’s a tight situation, the VISTA stroller can maneuver on a dime. I’ve found this ESPECIALLY helpful in tight spots – like crowded restaurants, tiny dressing rooms, elevators and cozy coffee shops. Basically all my FAVORITE things in life. The VISTA is so nimble and smooth you can push it with one hand. Which means your other hand is free to put out a crisis – like pop pacifiers back in mouthes, open doors, grab a burp cloth and pay for coffee. I could go on!
- Party it up like you used to. Okay…clearly it’s not like it used to be. BUT we are still filling up our social calendar! This past weekend we went to two parties in one day and were able to stay thanks to the Bassinet attachment. She is so cozy in it that she takes naps smack dab in the middle of the party – loud music and all. People couldn’t believe it! Since she basically has a traveling bed, you don’t have to stress about getting home because she can sleep wherever you go.
- Less stress and saves time. One of my personal favorite benefits is how the MESA car seat snaps right into the stroller. UPPAbaby eliminated the whole “getting the baby in and out of the car seat”, so you can run errands that much faster! You also don’t have to wake a sleeping babe either since you are leaving her all nestled where she is. WORTH EVERY PENNY.
- You stay organized. The storage underneath is great! I also got the cup holder (to hold my drinks) and the Carry-All stores extra burp clothes, pacifiers, doggy bags (for when Larry joins us on walks), my wallet and phone. Everything you need is quite handy.
- I know Penelope is SAFE. The smart color indicator turns green so you know you’ve securely snapped your baby in place and assembled their products correctly. This is ESPECIALLY helpful with the car seat. Speaking of assembling, it took seconds to put the stroller together. Everything is streamlined and functional, anyone can do it!
- Another follower reaffirmed UPPAbaby’s safety by saying… “UPPAbaby is the best. I have had the system for my twins since birth. My guys were born 7 weeks early and had to pass a car seat test before they could leave the hospital. The nurses were so impressed with the support it gave my little preemies.”
- You can travel lighter. Back to the Bassinet, it’s safe for overnight sleeping! This is KEY for traveling because it’s light, folds up compactly but still cozy. This is also what “P” slept in when we went to the Bahamas! Since she sleeps in it during walks and when we go on short trips, it will make our vacation that much more enjoyable.
- Saves you money and you can buy less stuff. Several of you said you use the UPPAbaby Bassinet for your babies when they came home from the hospital. No need to buy a second one! You can get a stand for it too, so you aren’t lugging the stroller up and down the stairs. One of my followers said… “It’s the best! My baby has been sleeping in it for 2.5 months now.”
- It’s the gift that just keeps on giving. I almost fell off the floor when another follower informed me “the UPPAbaby stand can be repurposed once you stop using the Bassinet and doubles as a hamper!”
- It grows with your family! We aren’t at this stage yet, but had to mention how another follower told me “as our family has grown (rapidly) we have expanded our stroller with the rumble seat and ride-along board. So some days I lug around all 3 in it!”.
As you can see, UPPAbaby is more than just a stroller. And you guys clearly agree! If you are still deciding which stroller to register for, I could not recommend going with UPPAbaby enough. Their products grow with your baby, family and lifestyle all at the same time.
LOIC (white) Color Review
Oh! Several of you have asked about the LOIC color and if it stays clean! I had the same concern, but after reading reviews and asking friends, I pulled the trigger. I mean it looks SO chic! It’s remained pristine without even trying. Granted, Penelope isn’t eating snacks and we live in the suburbs. However the material is very wipeable and I don’t foresee it being an issue at all!
Update: Penelope is now a year and a half and the white is still looking good!
