Hello 2020!
I’ve really enjoyed reading others 2019 reflections and goals for 2020. So I thought I’d share mine too!
2019 Reflections
THE BEST thing about 2019, {not to mention our ENTIRE lives}, was welcoming Penelope to the planet Earth. She is THE. BEST. Sometimes I squeeze her super tight and thank the Lord she’s here.
2019 was also a year of change. Your life is completely flipped on its head when you have a child. So coming out of the newborn stage alive feels like an award winning achievement! We are in this beautiful rhythm and routine now and it’s absolute HEAVEN. Penelope turns one in a few weeks and I cannot believe it!
Despite taking six months off to birth and raise a human, I hit two career milestones I’m very proud of. And I did it ALL being a new mom.
I have to give a special thank you to my mom especially – because none of it would be possible without her and the help of our family!
First was working with dream partnerships that I truly love, use, buy and have admired FOREVER. Some include Serena & Lily, Monica & Andy, ALDI, Sara Lee, Lincoln, Calico, Mark & Graham, Talbots, UPPAbaby, Nora Fleming, Evolution Fresh, Evite, Jackson Morgan and more. On top of it, Cedar & Rush was featured in several of these brands’ newsletters, blogs, Instagram and even used my content for their ad campaigns and resulted in multiple campaigns.
Second, was hitting some financial milestones I never thought possible. It’s crazy to see how the hard work you’ve put in pays off. And IT IS.
What’s In Store For 2020
I’m quite optimistic for 2020!
I took it easy this month just to regroup after the holidays. It’s a very demanding time for bloggers. I have my next big partnership coming up next month and ready to get back into the swing of things.
Over all, my mantra is ‘mix it up’ and bring some silliness in.
I believe little things have a rippling effect. So I made a list of ‘bite sized’ action items. It’s said the more specific you are, the more likely you are to follow through. So that’s the approach.
Most of these are light hearted but I hope you appreciate them.
- Go to an out of the ordinary grocery store (we always go to Wholefoods)
- Try a different coffee shop (it’s so funny what a creature of habit we are. It’s like LIVE a little!)
- Saber a bottle of champagne. I’m thinking Dec. 31st 2020. AKA just in the knick of time! Anyone own one I can borrow?
- Prioritize my appearance. I know it sounds vain but I feel better when I put effort in to what I wear and how I look. Nothing crazy. But for example I desperately needed some new jeans that fit my new mom bod. So I got some high waisted denim and HOLY TOLEDO! I feel like a new woman. {FYI ShopBop is having some awesome sales right now so I took advantage! Stay tuned for more of what I got!}. I was big time pregnant this time last year so my closet is lacking pieces that fit.
I also think I want to try mircoblading on my brows? To wake up with perfect looking brows without having to do a thing would be incredible! As cliche as it is, I need to get into a workout routine. For the life of me I just can’t and don’t know why. I LOVE my gym but I really am missing Orange Theory. It worked so well for me. - Send a telegram. YES! You can still send one.
- Secretly slip a $10 bill inside an egg carton at the grocery store. Wouldn’t you die if you found this unpacking your groceries? I plan to place a little note inside asking the finder to use it in a specific way. Stay tuned!
- Ask some moms out. LOL. I get SO nervous making new mom friends. So I’m going to really put myself out there this year in hopes to make new connections and friends. This is probably the thing that stresses me out the most (like I start sweating), but I’m going to do it!
What are your goals for 2020? Do any of these inspire you to try something new?
