For the days the weather isn’t cooperating; you catch wind of last minute company or quite frankly….you’re just not in the mood! Here are a few random tips to keep things festive and delightfully easy.
Baby It’s Cold Outside!
If your house is a BOMB {like ours 100% of the time!}, get your groceries delivered. Then spend that well saved time tidying up! I think we all need to be reminded it’s okay to spend an extra $7 on delivery. Your sanity is WORTH IT.
ALDI delivers wine and beer directly to your door via Instacart. There are several liquor deliveries too (like Drizly) but I love how you can get both drinks and food at ALDI’s.
Reese Witherspoon’s SUPER EASY Cocktail
I found this recipe in Reese’s Whiskey In A Teacup book and love how easy it is. The recipe’s below and I added a garnish to make a little more festive!
P.S. You can stock up on these ingredients now and they’ll stay good and handy for the entire season.
Prosecco & Ginger Ale Cocktail
- Fill flute 1/4 of the way full with chilled ginger ale
- Fill the remainder of the glass with Prosecco
- Garnish with cranberries or pomegranate seeds to make it festive! (you can get these frozen too!).
Red Wine The Italian Way
Whatever red wine you like, serve it how the Italians do – in mini tumblers versus stemmed glasses. Why? Because they don’t take up much room in the dishwasher and guarantees you no washing by hand. Visit this website for more dishwasher hacks.
Our favorite tumblers are Amanda Lindroth’s. The glass is very thin, like a wine glass, and the grass covers can be taken on or off. After I bought these, we have barely used our stemmed glasses thanks to how convenient they are. They are included in my Gift Guide for Her too.
Something To Munch On
Often times we feel like we need to serve so much food when people pop by. It actually stresses me out! But the reality is you don’t! Salty, crunchy nuts or a plate of cookies is a slam dunk. If you’re having fun and want the party to keep going, order pizza delivery and call it a night.
Back Story: I actually took these photos last year but only posted one on Instagram! Since they’re so beautiful I couldn’t let them to go to waste.
