Subtle touches can make a BIG difference. How you tie your scarf, arrange a cheese board, or even wrap gifts are what make your style unique.
One way to stand out is to incorporate your travels into your wardrobe. But I’m not talking tchotchke t-shirts and hats. No siree Bob! The next time you take a trip, observe what the locals wear. Or research a particular craft or store indigenous to the area. When you find something you love {that you know you’ll wear}, it’ll serve as a wonderful memory every time you wear it. Which is the secret to a GREAT souvenir.
Some of my favorite purchases have been a linen, monogrammed weekender from the Italy. It’s almost eight years old and I still use it to this day! Another one is a striped boat neck sweater from Nantucket. It came from a famous local shop on the island where several of the the first ladies have shopped {including Jackie O!}. Here are a few ideas to spark your own wardrobe souvenirs.
- A trench coat from London.
- Ballet flats in Paris.
- An umbrella in Seattle.
- Leather goods from Argentina.
- Lace in Germany.
- You can even get something from Zara or H&M that they don’t sell in the states! Doesn’t need to be extravagant or expensive. You just have to love it.
Do you collect momentos from your travels? No matter how near or far you go, you can always find something!
Here’s how to apply the same philosophy to your home! And a souvenir that’s classy and completely FREE.
